<h1> Valenciennes </h1>
From the Museum of Beautiful Arts of Valenciennes to the theatre of Denain, the
area of Valenciennes is given an exceptional cultural heritage, either regarding
the collection of Flemish paintings (2nd national collection after the Louvre)
or old manuscripts (the oldest manuscript written in French is preserved in the
library of Valenciennes).
<p>Between Lille and Valenciennes, extend the mining, forest and rural landscapes
of the Regional Natural reserve of Scarpe-Escaut, whom assets are revealed through
visits and excursions which are prolonged until Belgium.</p>
<p>In the East of the region, do not miss a visit on the archeological site of
Bavay: the most important Gallo-Roman forum in the north of the Loire. </p>
