<h1> Douai </h1>
<p>Douai preserves many vestiges of its military past: fortifications, arsenal,
barracks, foundry of guns… </p>
<p>The impressive belfry of Douai, which is also registered in the world heritage
of UNESCO, shelters in its bell-tower an impressive chime of 62 bells; the heaviest
of them weighs 5500 kg.</p>
<p>It is also in Douai that is held the festivals of Gayant, traditional festivals
during which the “giants” of the city are carried in the streets,
accompanied by brass bands and street artists. (1st weekend after July 5th)
</p>
<p>Not far from Douai, the Mining Historical Center of Lewarde proposes the museum
of the Mine, a discovery of the world of the mine and minors through a circuit
in the galleries, and exhibitions. </p>
